My First Christmas
| Soooo - that was Christmas huh!
I don't get what the big deal was! Franny was so busy 'getting ready for Christmas' - organising bedrooms for the Browns, Doing the food stuff - cutting, chopping, cooking and rearranging things in the fridge. You know what - she told me that I couldn't just sleep on ALL the beds in the house because Sarah, Paul and Oscar were coming to stay and that they wouldn't appreciate sharing their bed with me! - well nobody asked me would I mind sharing with them!!! NOT FAIR! then Franny said 'Harves, you can still share with Eugene and I, but only in the morning - ok?' so I felt a bit better. When 'the Browns' arrived it was pretty exciting - particularly as my mate Oscar was very excited - I stayed reeeeally close to him 'cos I hadn't seen him for a few months- gee he'd really shrunk - do you think that having a bath every day is bad for you?? - or what!!! Any way he got a bit stroppy with me and cried and kept pushing me and saying 'away', 'away'! well, that really hurt my feelings until Rupe told me that I was better off being away from him for the next year or two and that there were plenty of other kids who'd love to hang out with me. You know..... he was right - Oscar kept emptying all my toys out of my [whoops - sorry Rupe - I meant our] toy box, he tried to run over me with his tractor and he kept filling up my water bowls with dirt -[ boy! did Franny have a hissy fit about the water bowls - ] but on the up side he used to leave his toast and veg lying around for me and he'd open the gate so I could nick off [gee he was quick- and quiet] till Franny had another hissy fit and said the gate had to have the chain on as well [bugger!] Another good thing, Oscar had this special building set [usually kept on top of the book case except when Oscar comes] that he would play with and he would leave bits all over the place for me to find - so I would chew them up for him and hide them in the long grass for him to find- cool game huh? Oh, and the coolest game of all - standing on the trailing edge of Oscars 'Blankie'. Christmas day started out looking pretty good - Rupe got a new Lion and I got a new duck [I'd just finished gutting the old one - franny said she was disappointed in me because it wasn't mine to destroy - but hey! Rupes only got one mouth and can only hold one at a time - so what was the big deal?] Then blow me down - franny put this thing around my neck - it had bells on [Rupe - poor boy - had them on his feet] I didn't see her wearing any, nor those spoilt cats!!!! then --lucky-- Oscar came and took them off us and wore them himself, actually they looked cool on him, mmmm, maybe they were cool on me too??? Then the food - boy - all that food. Woooof Harvey |
